Word is that Oblivion will have similar system requirements to the new up and coming Skyrim. Maybe just a little higher, but not too much... Is this a fair assumption?

Part of me wants to play it in all of it's glory the other part just wants at-it any way it can. I need to know the system requirements for Skyrim to finalize which PC rig I will get.

I doubt it will have the same requirements. Skyrim uses a whole new game engine than what was used in oblivion

i'm downloading oblivion as i type, just to get me hyped for skyrim. my pc will almost certainly choke and die trying to run it, but i will buy it anyway, even if i have to enshrine it in my house for years before i can afford to build a new pc capable of playing it's glory.

My dad just bought a MSI Wind Top AE2240 22" AIO Multitouch. I was wondering if i could run it with Intel HD Graphics Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0... Would be fun to play Oblivion in touch! :D

hey sup guys i built an ok rig ran out of money and couldnt get a decent cpu but here are my specs im kind of new but i can barely run metro 2033 and Crysis on like 30-35 Fps my specs:

Yes, it does, and goes over them actually, you should have no trouble running it :) im getting it on 2.1Ghz, 2 Gb RAM, 128Mb graphics and that meets the minimum so you should be fine.

so I just got a new acer for christmas, the AS5560-Sb653, (heres a link the the specs page: http://www.acer.com.tw/ac/en/US/content/model/LX.RNT02.057) and im deciding whether i want to get skyrim for my pc or ps3. my question is will it look and run its best on this laptop or the ps3? i'd like to play it on the computer, but if it would be better on the ps3 ill go that direction. Pardon me, but will a current-generation ultraportable be able to handle Oblivion on high detail? Just wondering, as I can manage to run older games (such as the original Modern Warfare) on relatively high settings.

I'm using an Asus 1215B with 4GB RAM, an AMD CPU/GPU combo (E-450 CPU & Radeon HD 6320).

I realize that this is by no means a decent gaming rig. I'm just wondering whether or not I'll be able to run something other than a word processor or a web browser during my free periods.

This was a free gift from work so I was not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised it plays Oblivion just fine no issues at all. What are the chances it will play Skyrim also?

for an easy way to figure out if oblivion is capable of playing on your computer, go to Google and type in can you run it. click on the first result. once the page has loaded, type in oblivion in the search box and click the "can you run it?" button. note: for this part, you MUST have java or this wont work. once the page pops up, wait a bit until it redirects you to the next page. once that page appears, you can see a basic description on a picture of whether you computer can run the game or not. if you continue down, and pass the ad that is there, you can see a more in-depth description to see which parts of your computer you need to upgrade including your video card, ram, sound card, etc. note: if you have an Intel graphics card, the game will probably work because the game apparently doesn't have knowledge of them. it might pop up for others who have intel cards but it doesnt with mine. my graphics card is an Intel(R) HD Graphics Family.
